Tin of the Month Club, December

Well, I did it! Each month this year, I altered a tiny tin to represent that month. I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by! Here's December's tin: Jolly Old Saint Nick. So simple, but I love the little vintage plastic Santa and his candy cane. He looks so happy!

Tin of the Month Club, November

Each month this year, I've been altering a tiny tin to reflect the month. Here's the November tin. This turkey is hoping the fall foliage will serve as adequate camouflage. I wish him the best of luck. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Tin of the Month Club: October

Wow, here it is the fourth quarter of the year already! Only two more tins to go. Here's the October tin. I have to admit that this is actually the first tin I did last January. I was originally going to do several Halloween tins, but then decided to do one for each month of the year. It's been a fun challenge.

September is here and all the little kiddies are back in school. To celebrate, here's the September Tin of the Month. Not sure how happy this sweet little girl is to be back, but at least she's dressed for the occasion with her bright red hair bow! I love those tiny pencils...

Tin of the Month Club, August

August already? Each month this year, I'm altering a small tin and posting it. This month's tin is hot, just like the August sun. Warm colors, an awesome vintage image, and some tiny shells. Just about sums up the month, yeah?

Tin of the Month Club, July

Each month this year, I'm altering a small tin and posting it. Happy July! To me, the biggest event in July is the Fourth. I love me some fireworks. For this month's tin, I tried to find trim that brought fireworks to mind. Hooray for the red, white, and blue!

Each month this year, I'm altering a small tin and posting it. Now that it's summertime, it's time to go enjoy the outdoors. Let's go fishing! This tin is in honor of my husband, who's an avid fisherman. He tied the tiny fly that's tempting that large fish in the background.

Tin of the Month Club, May

Each month this year, I'm altering a small tin and posting it. April's tin was dark and rainy, but you know what they say about April showers; they bring May flowers. And this month, they certainly did. No more dark skies, just a beautiful spring. I hope your spring is as lovely.

Tin of the Month Club, April

It is so rainy and dark at my house that I feel it's the perfect time to reveal April's tin of the month. You know what they say about April showers! This tin is pretty dark, but it is accurate. At least there's a silver lining!

Tin of the Month Club, March

Is it March already? Then it must be time for this month's tin. I went a little Eastery with this one, even though most of the time Easter falls in April. I think I just needed to feel like Spring is on its way! Here's a cute little fellow and his friend the Easter bunny.

Here are the first quarter tins so far: January, February, and now March. I already feel like this year is flying by!

Tin of the Month Club, February

Here's the second in my Tin of the Month Club series. In case you missed January, I found a great set of 12 tiny tins, and each month, I'll be altering one to celebrate that month.

Ah, February! Seems like a Valentine's theme is in order. For this tin, I used red glitter around some cute scrapbook paper with hearts. The words "kiss me" were cut out of an old dictionary, and the happy couple came from a collage sheet. I trimmed the outside with tiny red pom poms, and a heart and cupid charm, all found at Alpha Stamps. So romantic!

Tin of the Month Club, January

Early last fall, I found a set of 12 small tins (about 1 1/2 inch in diameter), designed for jewelry parts storage. They were on sale at Tuesday Morning, and although I didn't have a plan for them, I couldn't resist them at the low, low price of $1.99. Why I didn't purchase every set they have, I don't know.

Fast forward to this week. I don't currently have any pending projects, so I pulled out the tins and started fiddling around. I ended up making a Halloween tin that I was pretty happy with. I thought about making a few more with a Halloween theme, but since there were 11 tins left, I thought it would be fun to make one tin for each month of the year. It's now my 2015 challenge to myself.

Each month, barring disease, disaster, or just plain slackness, I'll post up one of these little tins. At the end of the year, the whole year will be represented in tins.

Here's January. I photographed it on a black background so the trim would show.

Here it is on white. Once I get all twelve done, I want to make a composite photo of them all together.

Sorry, the Halloween tin will have to wait until October. But February is right around the corner. Stay tuned!
