I've just returned from a long family vacation. We had such fun, but it's been forever since I had a chance to make anything! I've been working this week on items for a craft swap. I'm going to try to mail them out tomorrow, and I'll post them when my partner receives them.
Meanwhile, look at this fun thrift store find: it originally held a buttonholer part for a Singer sewing machine, but I'll use it for storage. Doesn't it look like something straight out of "The Jetsons"?
It's almost 12" across, and I kind of love it.
Eeek! My mother had that exact gadget! Except that the case wasn't green; it was a kind of fleshy-beige. I'd forgotten what a cool shape it was. If I remember right, the device inside was equally impressive. And I remember those different-sized cams that fitted into the case. (Well, they're not exactly cams, but I don't know what else to call them.) I don't remember Mom ever using her buttonholer. I think it was probably easier to just do them by hand than to remember how to set it up!
ReplyDeleteYou know I think it's cool! Awesome find.
